Cupcakes and Slombies!

Have you guys met Al and Logan over at the crumb diaries?  I'm sure you have. They're totally famous, but if for some reason you missed this incredible-ness, let me tell you about them.

"Al" is what her son, Logan, calls his mom, and she has made a facebook page to share her and her beautiful sons journey. Logan has some special needs, and his mom tells it how it is.

The good.
The cupcakes.
The embarrassing
The hilarious (sometimes links in there with the embarrassing)
The bad
And the downright devastating.

But here's the thing. You read one post from this amazing and brave woman and you're hooked. Invested. You feel like you're a part of their lives, you WANT to be a part of their lives! You want to know more, you want to laugh with them, you want to cry with them, and you want to reach out a hand to Al and let her know that she has someone on her team.

Al has a sleeve of tattoos on her arm that her son drew. They're so beautiful! What a way to honor your child!

Al and Logan have a beautiful project and business that they work on together, making "slombies". They sew them as a team and sell them on e-bay for a charity donation.

And Logan is spotlighted as an artist in an organization called Paper Clouds. How's *that* for a proud mama moment!!

They have this following...it's incredible! Within seconds of a posting from Al, she has hundreds of people commenting, sharing, and taking part in activities, conversations, life lessons, and laughable experiences!
What a gift to be able to engage people like that!

Last night I had a dream about Al and Logan. I dreamt  that SOMEHOW Al had heard about little ole me, and had shared my blog with her incredible following and said some really special things about me.
THEN the dream continues and she invited me to come hang out with them for the weekend! We spent most of our time drinking coffee, taking weird photos, and laughing hysterically. (I also recall holding hands across the table and crying..but we had just run out of cupcakes and coffee... so...)
Y'know how dreams fade when you wake up to a point of not remembering them anymore? This one didn't, it stayed with me and has been nagging me all morning. I felt strongly enough that I wanted to do something to honor this special mother/son team, to let them know that they touch lives everywhere.

I only have a tiny corner of this thing we call the internet, but we're Crumb Diary fans here all the way.
